PLACES are still available for eligible children on this summer’s Holiday Food and Fun programme.

Parents and carers are being reminded to book free places on the Department of Education funded scheme, which offers a range of holiday activities and nutritious food to children and young people who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.

Activities on offer include rock and pop workshops, arts and crafts, musical theatre and media production, sports, and forest school activities.

There are places available across the county including at Heathfield, Lewes, Newhaven, Robertsbridge, Rye and Mayfield. Spaces are limited and families are advised to book as soon as possible.

Organisations that currently have availability include Active Primary Sports, Arts on Prescription, East Sussex Music Service, Glottenham Farm, Jewel Performing Arts, Lymley Wood, Make (Good) Trouble, the Sussex Community Development Association, and the Sussex Wildlife Trust.

Following the success of the first programme at Easter, 7,000 free places have been made available over the upcoming school holidays to children aged between five and 16 who receive benefits related free school-meals.
