AN Eastbourne school has announced it will be closing for two weeks.

Gildredge House Head Stuart Reeves says ‘it is with regret.’

He said: “I must apologise for the last-minute nature of these changes but I am sure you appreciate and understand the rapidly changing landscape in which we find ourselves.

We shall be moving to remote learning for all non-vulnerable students for a period of two weeks for all phases of the school from Year R to Year 13. This period of home learning will begin on Tuesday 5th January until Friday 15th January inclusive.

The school will remain open for vulnerable students and for children of Key Workers.

We have taken this very difficult decision in order to guarantee the safety of the whole school community in light of the discovery of the new variant of coronavirus that is in circulation.”
