Thursday 16 December – Congress Theatre, Eastbourne

Multi-million selling author and comic Adam Kay returns to Eastbourne with his new show Twas The Nightshift Before Christmas, to recount the hilarious and heart-warming tales of this most special time of year from the front-line health professionals on Thursday 16 December at the Congress Theatre.

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat… but 1.4 million NHS staff are heading off to work. Following the incredible success of This Is Going To Hurt, Adam Kay delves back into his diaries for a hilarious peek behind the blue curtain at Christmastime.

Twas The Nightshift Before Christmas is a love letter to those who spend their festive season on the front line, removing babies and baubles from the various places they get stuck, at the most wonderful time of the year.

Eyewatering, heart-warming and hilarious in equal measure this live show mixes highlights from the book with Kay’s award-winning stand-up comedy and exclusive new content.

For the uninitiated Adam is a Doctor turned master storyteller and comic who kept detailed diaries of his time at the front line; in this show his most festive tales are recounted, while he joins along on the keyboard belting out festive tunes with cleverly altered lyrics to match his source material.

Adam’s first book spent over 8 months as the Sunday Times Number One Bestseller and gained a record four National Book Awards. The follow up book, on which this tour is based, contains all the elements that were too Christmassy – and eyewatering – to be included on the original.

Tickets are still available to book, priced at £28.50, Adam Kay; Twas The Nightshift Before Christmas, at the Congress Theatre Eastbourne on Thursday 16 December, 8pm. Age guidance 14+. Call the box office on 01323 412000 or see the new-look website
