The deadline is looming for Eastbourne residents who want to have their say in the May local elections but have not yet registered to vote.
People have until 11.59pm on Monday, April 19, to register for elections being held on Thursday, May 6.
As well as elections for East Sussex County Council and the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner, there will be by-elections for Hampden Park and Sovereign wards for Eastbourne Borough Council.
Those who have recently turned 18 or moved home are particularly urged to act to ensure they are registered to vote. It takes just five minutes to register online at www.gov.uk/registertovote
People who were registered to vote in the last election do not need to take action if their details have stayed the same. If in doubt, you can check with your local authority on 01323 410000.
The deadline is also nearing for postal and proxy votes. People must apply for a postal vote by 5pm on April 20, and for a proxy vote by 5pm on April 27.
