JAMIE Mooney and John Spriggs were both living and working in London – Jamie as a surveyor and John in education.
Now they have left the capital, moved to the seaside, and opened a new bar in the heart of Eastbourne.
Beerarama is situated in Bolton Road in the building which used to be The V Bar.
It’s had a complete transformation, and they’re excited about their new business.
Jamie said: “We are a proper beer shop selling craft beers, wines, and non-alcohol drinks. We have around 200 craft beers and some lovely Belgian beers.
“Most of our drinks are sourced locally, which is very important to us. For example, four of our taps are from local breweries.
“We are also serving food, looking at tapas, snacks and perhaps some Sunday specials as well.
“We have a nice outdoor space for when the weather improves, a nice seating area downstairs, and a large upstairs too.
“We are open seven days a week from noon and we are planning live music on Sunday afternoons and some Tasting events with different breweries.”
Jamie and John have already made contact with suppliers Rathfinny Wine Estate at Alfriston and Hidden Spring Vineyard at Heathfield. The walls are adorned with beer-related art by Sarah May Warner, a friend, which is for sale.
There are sofas, luxury chairs and attractive tables at the sit-down venue, which will stay open until 11pm on Friday and Saturdays.
