RESIDENTS are hoping the dead porpoise found on Eastbourne beach over the weekend can be moved.

One has contacted us to say: “Do you have the means to encourage the appropriate authority to remove the dead creature from the harbour .. it appears private individuals reports have not elicited prompt action.

“It is deplorable that kids are throwing stones, etc at it.”

We contacted Eastbourne Borough Council who, in turn, suggested the Harbour master can deal with this.

The porpoise was washed up on the beach at Sovereign Harbour on February 28 and found by a member of the public.
