Langney Primary Academy in Eastbourne has discovered the presence of a type of concrete that could suddenly collapse.

The concrete in question is reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC), a lightweight building material used from the 1950s up to the mid-1990s.

More than 150 schools across the country have been identified as having this concrete in their structures, with many now closing buildings or classrooms to make them safe.

Students are receiving face-to-face learning on-site or nearby.

The school is part of the Swale Academies Trust and had its first day of term this week.
