PAUL James was the much loved 43-year-old Eastbourne man who died after collapsing while playing football.

Paul, a father of two, was a train driver for Southeastern Railway and also worked as an associate ambulance practitioner based in Polegate.

Now his family has released details of his farewell next Friday:

“We will be celebrating Pj’s amazing life next week.

His farewell ceremony will be next Friday the 30th July at 12.00.

Due to being so overwhelmingly loved, there is not a venue in the world that can accommodate all of you lovely people so we would love you all to line the route and give him one final wave and then celebrate his wonderful life with a picnic in the park.

I will let you know the exact route we will travel with him and the park of his choice via messages and word of mouth.

There will also be a link to the farewell ceremony for those who cannot be there in person.

Please feel free to wear whatever your comfy in! The more colourful the better and anything pink is a bonus!

Please all join us on the 30th, anyone who loves PJ is invited as he thought the world of you all too.”
