‘Lovely to have long grass for the wildlife,’ says Eastbourne Borough Council

It’s good to receive positive feedback about our approach to increase local biodiversity – says Eastbourne Borough Council:

“It’s lovely to have some long grass for the wildlife. Already there are a range of lovely wild flowers growing…Good job!”

But some locals are not impressed:

Here’s one comment: “Walked through part of Princes Park earlier and the overgrown areas will be taking over the play park before long, and some of bushes along the paths are so large you can barely pass.”

Another said: “Long grass = part of the £60,000 services cuts announced this week by EBC. The bio diversity is pure spin. Ps Beware of Ticks in long grass, already been bitten twice this year.”
