IT’S been another busy and exciting month in Eastbourne as we climb out of Lockdown.

First, we must say how well Langney Shopping Centre is fighting back with several new shop openings.

The new MG dealership on the former Barclays bank site is just the latest addition.

The centre always seems busy with a packed car park, no doubt helped by the free parking.

There is no doubt that has an impact, with car parking charges so appalling high in Eastbourne Town Centre.

The biggest debate this month continues to be the closure of Eastbourne Bandstand.

This really is so sad and should have been avoided at all costs.

Mr Gulzar has offered to take it over, but the borough council won’t want that.

He says he would be committed to get it reopened within three months.

There is similar disquiet at the Motcombe Pool remaining closed and no sign yet of the Dotto Train.

If ever Eastbourne needed a positive and successful summer, this is the one.

It was a bumper Easter weekend with the lovely weather- let’s hope for more of the same for the rest of the year.

We’ve had another successful four weeks here at Bournefree, both online and in print. Have a great month everyone!
