AT least three more Eastbourne pubs are extending the government scheme to offer 50 per cent off food and drink.
They are The Dolphin in South Strreet, The Pilot in Meads and The British Queen in Willingdon.
A spokesman for The Dolphin said: “As the government Eat Out to Help Out scheme draws to an end we have decided to continue the discount offer throughout September.
“Join us every Monday-Wednesday and enjoy 50 per cent off your food bill.”
The Pilot has decided to do the same but refers to ‘a limited menu.’
The British Queen at Willingdon says its deal is Monday to Thursday for the whole of the month.
The national scheme finished yesterday.
Downing Street said more than 64 million meals had been claimed for so far since the Monday to Wednesday initiative was launched in an attempt to boost the hospitality industry in the wake of the outbreak.
84,000 outlets signed up, according to the most recently released Treasury statistics.
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) wants to see Eat Out to Help Out extended through to September, with its chairman Mike Cherry describing the next months as “economic make or break”.
