MORE road closures have been announced as part of the ongoing Polegate Roadworks.

It’s causing misery for many residents with long queues.

The A27 will be closed between Drusillas roundabout and the Polegate Junction between 8.00pm and 6.00am for four nights from Monday 2 November until Thursday 5 November.

Staff will be working between Polegate Junction and Gainsborough Lane to divert services.

Access to the Stud Farm Estate will remain open from Berwick at Drusillas roundabout.

For access, an escort through the road closure to Gainsborough Lane will be provided.During the following week, from Monday 9 November until Thursday 12 November, the A27 will be closed again between Drusillas roundabout and the Polegate Junction between 8.00pm and 6.00am. work will finish on the morning of Friday 13 November.

During this time however, they will only be working at Berwick and so access to the Stud Farm Estate will be possible from both directions.

The current bad weather is slowing progress to complete the new second lane of the road between Polegate Junction and the Cophall roundabout.

They had hoped to finish this section and move the temporary contra-flow system to the other side of the road, where they need to install new drainage over the weekend of 6 to 8 November.

They have had to delay this until the weekend of 20 to 22 November.

The steel safety fence will be moved overnight on Saturday 21 November and our working hours will be between 1.00pm on the Saturday finishing at 6.00am on Sunday 22 November.
