Work has begun to restore a pedestrian bridge in Motcombe Gardens with funding support from local councillors.
Friends of Motcombe Gardens approached Old Town councillors to help fund the bridge repairs and they approved £400 from Eastbourne Borough Council's Devolved Budget scheme.
The bridge is along a walking route through the gardens used by local residents throughout the year and its restoration will enhance the surroundings and is part of keeping the park environment well maintained.
