EASTBOURNE MP Caroline Ansell has sent an emotive message about Mother’s Day.
She said: “It’s Mother’s Day this Sunday and another occasion where we have to be creative about how we can connect with those we love; I’m so glad that a care home visit is newly possible, it’s been very hard on residents and their families to endure such a long separation.
But for those who have lost their mum this year past, this Sunday will be especially hard and my heart goes out to them.
For many reasons, the day can be challenging.
I had a number of years where the grief of having lost a baby followed by years of longing for the patter of tiny feet, weighed very heavily on me.
But, this stay at home weekend, I will be counting my blessings, with a blustery walk today along the seafront with my wonderful mum, now her 90th year and Sunday with my boys.
We may have temporarily lost the ‘Spring feel’ weather for chilly gale force winds but hope is very much on its way with a brilliant vaccine programme.
It won’t be long before we can step out again and be together.”
