Mowing is to be reduced in Eastbourne cemeteries, parks and other open spaces

Here’s the borough council: “Nature-rich and ecologically productive areas are not always neat and tidy.

“We aim to increase areas of pollinator-friendly habitats by reducing mowing and encouraging wildflowers in our cemeteries, parks and other open spaces.

“Rare bumblebees, like the brown-banded carder bee, have been spotted in Sussex cemeteries after an absence of more than 50 years thanks to grounds maintenance changes.”
