EASTBOURNE MP Caroline Ansell has been talking about the importance of tourism.

She said: “This week I took part in a visitor summit organised by the Alliance of Chambers in East Sussex and I was pleased to have secured Tourism Minister Nigel Huddleston to open the Zoom conference.

We may still be in the shadow of this pandemic but thinking about the future and build back better is vital work now. There will be brighter days and in Eastbourne these must be grasped.

There were many positives from the meeting which reflected just how innovative some of our local businesses had been. The conference also flagged further opportunities and ambitions for growth. Sussex as a visitor destination is still very much ‘the untold story’ and far more can be made of our landscape, heritage and cultural offer.”
