The new store has been created to give these pre-loved items a second life, while making good-quality furniture and household goods available to local residents at affordable prices.

Speaking at the opening, the Mayor of Polegate, on behalf of Polegate Town Council, and County and District Councillor for Willingdon, Stephen Shing, said: “It is a real pleasure to officially open the new Help UK Clearance Store here in Willingdon. I would like to congratulate Caroline and her team and thank them for all their hard work in making this new store possible.

“The store provides a valuable service for local residents, particularly at a time when many households are looking for ways to make their money go further.

“It also supports the principles of reuse and reducing waste by giving furniture, electrical goods, clothing and household items a second life rather than seeing useful items go to waste.

“I have seen first-hand the difference that this type of service can make. When similar stores opened in Eastbourne and , I had the opportunity to visit them in my role as an East Sussex County Councillor.

“I saw how they can help local people access affordable furniture and household goods while also reducing waste and supporting the wider community.

“I am therefore particularly pleased to see Help UK taking this approach here in Willingdon, and I hope this new store will have the same positive impact locally.

“I am also very pleased to see Help UK supporting local charities by donating surplus items wherever possible. This means the benefits of the store can reach even further across our community, helping people who need support while ensuring that useful items do not go to waste.

“I would like to wish Help UK Clearance Store every success here in Willingdon. I hope it becomes a well-used, valued and lasting part of our local community.

“Congratulations to the whole team on this exciting new opening.”

Caroline Rosan, co-director of Help UK, said: “We wanted to create a place where good, usable items could be given a second life rather than going to landfill. Our aim is simple, to support our community, reduce waste and make quality items affordable for everyone.”

The store offers a wide range of goods, including furniture, white goods, electricals, clothing, bric-a-brac and homeware, all at affordable prices.

The opening represents a new chapter for Help UK, bringing together reuse, affordability and community support. The company also aims to support local charities by donating surplus items wherever possible, helping useful goods reach people and organisations that can benefit from them.

The Help Uk Clearance team would like to thank the Mayors, councillors, their team, families, friends and everyone who has supported them in bringing the new store to Willingdon.
