THERE’S soon to be a new attraction to Langney Shopping Centre – and it’s a brand-new car showroom.

The centre is probably best known as a place to get your weekly shopping, including some bargains, and enjoy a coffee.

But we all know there’s so much more inside now – and it’s about to get a whole lot better.

In April, MG Dealership Jermyn and Sons will be opening up with a huge site at the Tesco end of the centre.

Sales Director Ben Smith said: “We have been looking for new sites locally and we have had a lot of successful product placement events before in Langney Shopping Centre.

“So when I started talking to centre manager Neil Avis, he was really helpful and I’m thrilled that we will be moving in during April.

“We are very excited at the opportunities this presents to expand our business, moving back into Eastbourne.”

Real opportunity

Family-run Jermyn and Sons originally had three sites when it launched in 1972 – Seaford, Eastbourne and Uckfield.

Now it has just the Seaford one, in Claremont Road, but that’s all about to change.

The new site will be where the Barclays bank used to be, stretching all the way down to the main road. The taxi rank has been moved and car parking spaces have gone.

Ben said: “It’s a big site, and a real opportunity for us. There will be a forecourt and showroom, new and used cars for sale, service centre and workshop, and we also offer Motability vehicles.

“We joined the MG franchise back in 2018 and since then the brand has gone from strength to strength, we’re confident Eastbourne will be a great location for our new showroom.”

“The new showroom will offer the full MG range varying from the hatchback MG3 to the UK’s first fully electric estate car, the MG5.”

“As a business we have continued to grow throughout Lockdown and we’re looking forward to Eastbourne becoming the new home for MG.”
