WEALDEN District Council has launched a new website to help its residents stay healthy and active.

The Healthy Wealden website provides the tools and resources needed to embark on a healthier lifestyle.

Visitors to the website are encouraged to explore the outdoors using an interactive map.

The map lists the many parks and open spaces available in the District, and with help from Town and Parish Councils, has been populated with details of the facilities available at each location.

Other features of the website include:

  • Everything you need to know about the Cuckoo Trail
  • Help and advice on how to get active and live well
  • Details of self-guided walks and health walks
  • A directory of leisure centres in the District

Cllr Philip Lunn, Cabinet Member for Community and Public Health, said: “We hope that the Healthy Wealden website will inspire our residents to get active, especially now the autumn and winter months are upon us.

“There is so much our District has to offer in helping to achieve a healthier lifestyle. Thanks to this website, it’s now much easier to explore and discover new places to walk, cycle, relax and embrace new and healthier habits”.

In addition to the website, there is also an accompanying Healthy Wealden Facebook page.

This brings together health tips and advice from partner organisations, as well as promoting health and wellbeing activities and events taking place across the District.
