Sussex Police has started the new year by opening applications for new police officers, as part of its continued commitment to bolster officer numbers across the county.
The force’s latest recruitment window opened on Wednesday (5 January) and will remain open for two weeks.
It’s part of the national Uplift campaign to recruit 20,000 additional police officers, which has surpassed the halfway stage and resulted in 182 extra officers so far recruited in Sussex.
During this round of recruitment, applications will be sought for cohorts to join the force via the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) or the Degree Entry Holder Programme (DHEP). For further information, check the full eligibility criteria.

“This latest round of officer recruitment shows the commitment to build back local policing and bolster the force’s wider capabilities. British police officers are rightly respected around the world, because they are ordinary people drawn from the diverse communities they serve but they do an extraordinary job.”
