The organizer, Stephen Fahey, a budding entrepreneur in Eastbourne, aims to establish a community hub promoting awareness for healthy wellbeing.

Stephen, a former local supply teacher in Eastbourne and Brighton, is currently retraining to become a counsellor. His goal is to provide a safe haven for the Eastbourne community to gather and converse once a month. Additionally, Stephen is gearing up to launch a mental health walk-in clinic next year.

“I’m thrilled to kickstart this small yet impactful community mental health project. Drawing from my experiences in independent research and the skills acquired during my counseling course, I want to contribute to the wellbeing of my community. My deep-seated belief in assisting others, coupled with my previous role as a teacher, will be instrumental in welcoming the people of Eastbourne to this new community club.”

As we’ve seen with the impact of COVID, mental health has emerged as a significant focus in the community. However, there is a notable absence of support groups taking the lead. Hence, Stephen’s innovative initiative is warmly welcomed in our great town
