AS expected, this year’s Christmas panto in Eastbourne has been cancelled due to Covid.

Chris Jordan and his team at Eastbourne Theatres have built up an excellent reputation for the quality of the pantos they produce.

But Covid means 2020 Christmas in Eastbouirne will be without a panto.

A spokesperson said, “It is therefore also with great sadness that we confirm the postponement of this year’s Devonshire Park Theatre pantomime Sleeping Beauty until Christmas 2021.

“We look forward to welcoming our panto family back to the Devonshire Park Theatre next year for what will be our greatest pantomime celebration ever.”

Sleeping Beauty was due to run from Friday 11 December 2020 to Sunday 17 January 2021 at the Devonshire Park Theatre.

The promotion said: “Eastbourne Theatre’s 20th pantomime production! Expect plenty of songs, comedy and family fun at this traditional pantomime spectacular.

“Sleeping Beauty tells the story of the beautiful princess who is cursed by the evil Carabosse to sleep for 100 years and can only be awoken by true love’s kiss.”

Sadly we will have to wait another year.
