Ellis Skelton, 17, from Old Town was awarded two Highly Commended awards for his landscape photography at The Young Landscape Photographer Of The Year awards.

His images included a beautiful tranquil photograph of the murmurations over Eastbourne pier during blue hour called ‘Dancing In The Dusk’ – this was awarded in the costal category.

His second image was called ’The Last Tree Standing’, a striking photograph of a lone tree over the South Downs, early one snowy morning in December – this was awarded in the classic view category.

His awards were presented by professional landscape photographer and founder of Landscape Photographer Of The Year; Charlie Waite who praised Ellis for his knowledge on photography and his attitude to the local environment around Eastbourne.

Ellis is extremely proud of his achievements “This is my second year of entering, Last year I made it as far as the shortlisting stage although this year in 2023 I made it as far as the finals! I was thrilled to hear that both of my images had been highly commended and I would like to thank the Eastbourne community for supporting me through my photography journey.”

Ellis’ work can be found on his website and he exhibits and sells his work around Eastbourne and the surrounding areas.
