Nestled in the heart of Eastbourne’s Devonshire Quarter is one of the town’s best kept secrets – the DQ Terrace Café and Bar.
And with its contemporary feel, beautiful interiors, spacious terrace, and stunning views across Devonshire Park, it’s no wonder it’s so popular with residents and visitors alike.
The eatery, on the ground floor of the Welcome Building in Compton Street, was created as part of the multi-million-pound transformation of Devonshire Park, the Congress Theatre, Winter Garden and Devonshire Park Theatre.
Since opening it has built up a regular clientele with its seasonal menu which includes a range of breakfast dishes, sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, sharing boards, light bites, cakes, and snacks as well as wines, beers, soft drinks, teas and coffees and smoothies.
This summer the terrace will provide the perfect location to relax with friends, soak up the sun, enjoy a pre-theatre drink or watch some of the many tennis events that Eastbourne is serving up post Wimbledon and the Rothesay International Tournament, which saw some of the world’s top tennis stars grace the Devonshire Park award-winning tennis courts.
After a busy June and July, the August tennis action kicks off with the Devonshire Park South of England Open Championships between 1-6 August. The GB Men’s Over 35s Inter-County Cup competition is on from 11-14 August and finally the British Open Masters Grass Court Championships takes place between 22-27 August.
In addition, there will be a pop-up DQ Café and Bar within Devonshire Park’s Locker Room – used by international tennis stars such as Serena Williams, Cameron Norrie, Petra Kvitova and Taylor Fritz during the recent Eastbourne Rothesay International tournament – open to spectators and players during the tennis events.
The DQ Terrace Café and Bar is open daily from 9am-5pm Monday-Saturday and between 10am-4pm on Sundays.
Pay us a visit, relax, and enjoy the scenery with free Wi-Fi available.
