ONLY leave your home if essential is the new message from East Sussex health bosses.

At the weekend, its message was that after a recent sharp rise, the number of positive Covid-19 cases in East Sussex had finally started to go down, but we all need to play our part to keep it that way.

Now, at 9.30am today, East Sussex County Council has updated its message to the public.

It says: “COVID cases are rising in East Sussex.

“Please only leave your home if essential and observe social distancing if you do.

“Remember: Hands, face, space. It takes no time at all to do but could safe lives.
