‘People riding a privately owned e-scooter in Eastbourne should be stopped.’

That is the view of the Eastbourne Access Group.

It says: “Simply put, anyone riding one of these vehicles in Eastbourne should be stopped and dealt with accordingly. Putting vulnerable people at risk in what should be safe comfortable public realm.

These illegal vehicles are being seized across multiple police forces. Let’s see action to protect vulnerable people in Eastbourne.”

UK law states that if you are found to be riding a privately owned e-scooter that is not being used as part of a government trial, you could be handed a fixed-penalty notice and, if you have one, points on your driving licence.
