SUSSEX Police has issued a warning about fake officers.

They say: “We have received a number of calls today (October 6) from people who have been targeted by fraudsters claiming to be police officers.

The victims are told police have arrested someone in possession of a cloned bank card belonging to the victim, before asking detailed questions about the bank account.

We are urging people to be wary of unexpected phone calls, and to never send money or share personal information with anyone you don’t know or trust.

Under no circumstances would the police request a card PIN or security details over the phone.

If you are in any doubt, or if you would like to report a fraud, please call police on 101.”
