A RESTAURANT and cafe which opened in Eastbourne just at the start of Lockdown last month has new plans to take the town by storm.
Perch Princes Park opened on March 18 2020 and owner Alex Hole said: “We haven’t had the chance yet to show off what we can do.”
He certainly intends to change that in the coming months.
First, what Alex and his team have done so far.
He said: “We’ve only been able to fully open for three months in the last year yet we have been delighted with the positive response and the support shown by people in Eastbourne.
“We have laid the foundations by rebuilding what was inside the building, and we have a new cellar, experienced chefs and a new menu.
“We are pleased that we’ve been able to keep the kiosk open during this latest lockdown, and that remains incredibly popular.”
It’s to the immediate future that Alex is now looking and there are big plans afoot.
Alex said: “We are investing in outdoor dining, including new furniture and pizza ovens.
“We have bought lakeside restaurant tables and we are bringing Pizza to the Park.
“Eastbourne Borough Council has been incredibly supportive of our plans and we are hoping to stay open in the evenings with a full alcohol licence.
“Our vision is to turn Perch Princes Park into something a bit different.
“And I firmly believe that if you use space in a positive manner then the outcome will be positive too.
“We’re also hoping that we may be able to stage some events and we are really all set for an exciting spring and summer.
Alex also owns Perch On Lancing Beach: “Our formula has worked in Lancing and I am confident we can achieve the same in Eastbourne.”
He’s also taking over the iconic Southern Pavilion on Worthing Pier.
He’s creating 40 jobs in Worthing, and he wants to bring the same economic boost to Eastbourne.
