A person shouting for help in the water near Beachy Head Lighthouse has been rushed to hospital.
Here is Eastbourne RNLI: “Our #VolunteerCrew were paged Tuesday 16th August at 13.10 hrs
They were requested to launch the Inshore Lifeboat and tasked to reports of a person shouting for help in the water close to Beachy Head Lighthouse.
Our Inshore Lifeboat and Volunteer Crew were quickly on scene, the casualty still calling for help and in a distressed state was located and recovered onto the Lifeboat.
Due to the deteriorating condition of the casualty who had been in the sea for quite some time the decision was made to take the casualty to Holywell where an ambulance had been requested to attend.
The Coastguard Rescue Helicopter also tasked, lowered their Paramedic Winchman onto the beach and assisted with the incident.
The casualty was then transferred to hospital. We wish them a speedy recovery.”
