The Mayor of Eastbourne has thanked Seven Sisters Camera Club for raising £620 for his chosen charities following a recent exhibition in The Beacon.

With around 650 visitors to the exhibition, the club generated the charity funds from a donation for every print sold as well as holding a collection.

The money will be divided among the Mayor’s nominated good causes for the year – Amaze, Community Wise and Holding Space.

Amaze helps families with disabled children and young people with special educational needs in Sussex with information, advice and support.

Community Wise is a busy community centre in the Motcombe area used by people of all ages and backgrounds for activities ranging from toddler groups to a charity shop.

Holding Space supports parents, carers, children and families who are struggling with their mental health, providing face-to-face, telephone and online help.

Councillor Rodohan said: “I would like to thank Seven Sisters Camera Club for their generosity and for using their talents to raise much-needed funds for these three fantastic local charities.

“With over 100 images on show, I – along with hundreds of other visitors over four days – thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition.”
