Four members of the Volunteer Crew here at Eastbourne RNLI have been presented with letters of commendation from the RNLI Director of Lifesaving Operations for a rescue carried out on June 30th 2019.
Aaron Stevenson, Dean Parker, Pete Needham and Tom Mele were crew on board the Inshore Lifeboat tasked to look for a windsurfer reported missing off Pevensey Bay.
When the Volunteer Crew spotted the casualty he was draped across his board and it was clear to see he was in need of immediate assistance.
The casualty was taken on board the Inshore Lifeboat and taken ashore to a waiting ambulance.
On presenting these letters of commendation, Lifeboat Operations Manager Carl Pocock said ” its an honour to present these commendations to Aaron, Dean, Pete and Tom. We are extremely proud here at Eastbourne RNLI to be credited with a life saved by the RNLI.”
