THERE has been an amazing response to Eastbourne RNLI’s fundraising to repair its inshore lifeboat.

The lifeboat capsized while on a rescue mission at Birling Gap.

All three volunteer crew members on board were fortunately picked up unharmed by the Eastbourne all-weather lifeboat which went to their aid.

It set up an online fundraising page this week saying it needed £5,450.

As of 10.30am today, it had already reached £5,825 with 326 donations.

The RNLI said the boat needs urgent repairs before it is ready to save lives once again – and you can help restore D-744, the Laurence and Percy Hobbs, to service by donating to this fundraiser.

Anything raised over this amount will be put towards its wider lifesaving work.

Thank you as always from the crews for your amazing support!
