AN Eastbourne writing group is producing a book of members’ stories to raise money for a popular charity.

Scribe Tribe meets weekly in Bibendum in Eastbourne Town Centre.

The group consists of prolific short story writers as well as some of working on novels.

Now it is raising money for the Children with Cancer Fund, based at The Triangle in Willingdon.

Jackie Harvey from Scribe Tribe said: “The Children with Cancer Fund is, as we all know, a worthy local charity and we thought it would be a good idea to produce a book of some of our stories to raise money that would all go to the fund.

“We have a reserve to enable us to buy a good number of author copies that we will sell  not only to connected people but at a launch.

“I have spoken to Chris Downton from the charity and he is very pleased with the idea and  has contributed a Foreword to the book.

“We have entitled it Words into Wishes and are currently awaiting proof copies before finalizing and ordering.

“There will be a link to the Amazon sales page from the Children with Cancer Fund website and hopefully from other social media platforms too.

All the money raised will go to turn our Words into Wishes for the children.”

The launch is taking place on June 27 at Bibendum from 7pm until 9pm.
