A VISITOR attraction at Stone Cross has raised £350 for Macmillan Cancer Support with a special ‘Rule of 6’ coffee morning.

Every year, on the last Friday in September, the charity organises the famous World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Last year alone it raised more than £27 million.

This year Macmillan relaunched the campaign as Nothing Stops a Coffee Morning, and that was exactly the case at Sharnfold Farm, situated on the Hailsham Road at Stone Cross between Eastbourne and Hailsham.

Groups of six booked in at the newly-revamped cafe throughout the day. They had to book their time slot in advance.

They paid £10 each for sandwiches, cakes and tea/coffee with every penny being donated to the charity.

Donna Bull from Sharnfold said: “It was an absolute privilege to be able to raise money for this very special charity.

“Our staff were delighted to welcome the groups of six during the day with strict social distancing in place at all times.

“We were happy to donate everything free of charge so that Macmillan Cancer Support was able to benefit.

“We were also able to raffle a wonderful cake kindly donated by a lady from Polegate, June Conti, who had read about what we were doing.”
