‘TOGETHER we will build a better future for the children’ is the pledge after Sunday’s fire at Stafford School.

The school remains closed as police say the cause is believed to be suspicious.

Here’s Penny Gaunt, chair of the school Board, and Head Kyra Siddall-Ward:

“The school remains closed for decontamination work. A timeline is being drawn up for all the necessary work and we will share further information when we have it.

“The remote learning plans are working well, thank you for your support with this. We appreciate Google Classrooms is new for everyone but initial feedback has been very positive, especially the videos made by the teachers.

“We have already made provision for some pupils at Cavendish. This is working well. We are now arranging provision at other schools for the children of key workers. So far, we have had requests from 126 families for this provision and will be in touch to confirm arrangements.

“The year 3 key worker bubble opens tomorrow and we anticipate the other key worker bubbles opening on Monday 23 November 2020.

“We are developing provision for Y6 pupils and will be contacting parents and carers of these pupils towards the end of this week.

“Food packages for free school meal children will be distributed tomorrow to eligible children by Roselands Infants’ School. We are hoping to be able to distribute vouchers to eligible children who remain at home next week.

“We are more convinced than ever that together we will build a better future for the children.”
