THE Starlight Stroll has raised an amazing £60,632.90 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
The figure has just been announced today.
More than 500 walkers took part in the socially distanced Starlight Stroll walk in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice in September.
Walkers registered in one hour time slots throughout the day, using a contactless registration system.
Their route took them from Treasure Island along the seafront towards the Italian Gardens.
At the gardens, each walker had the opportunity to lay a lantern in memory of a loved one before returning to complete their distance.
The lanterns were then transported back to the hospice’s wellbeing garden before a special online stream.
The hospice said: “A huge thank you to everyone who took part and donated. The money you have raised will help us to continue providing and improving end of life care and support to patients and their families.”
