Looking for premium products to fuel your new found passion for baking, cake creating or bread making?

New startup company Ratton Pantry may be just the solution, offering a convenient shopping experience with items delivered straight to your door, for free.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, sister and brother-in-law Victoria Kingford and Sean Hammett had a difficult time finding high-quality baking ingredients.

As avid home bakers, and Eastbourne residents, they knew others in their local area were having the same problem. So, during mid 2020, they decided to take matters into their own hands and procured baking essentials for themselves and anyone else in their community who was interested.

Ratton Pantry prides itself on stocking an ever growing selection of premium cooking and baking products, each carefully selected by the baking enthused pair. Initially focussing on artisan flours, namely the 50 different styles that they currently stock and source directly from British flour mills Heygates and Matthews Cotswold, Victoria and Sean soon sought to expand the range and now sell everything from specialist food colourings and ingredients for cake making through to French Bonne Maman conserves and all that’s in-between.

“We aim to stock premium items that are hard to get hold of, providing our customers with a selection of brands and product sizes/quantities that are not normally available in regular supermarkets” says Victoria.

With only the pair running Ratton Pantry, bolstered by the occasional family member helping to package orders, the co-founders are prioritising sustainable growth and stellar customer service above all else.

“It’s a real family business and we think it’s important to grow naturally, whilst keeping control and maintaining our high standards of customer service” says Sean. “We always want to offer a very personal shopping experience and keeping things tight at the moment allows us to do this.”

But despite humble beginnings, the business has seen promising growth in a relatively short period of time since it’s launch last Summer, selling goods and sending orders daily to customers all over the country via their website.

Not wanting to lose sight of their roots, Eastbourne will always remain close to Victoria and Sean’s hearts. They’re enjoying growing a combination of local private customers and small businesses, who enjoy both their premium products and friendly customer service. Offering a free delivery service to anyone that lives locally, Ratton Pantry provides a seamless, simple and convenient shopping experience. The pair are also currently looking at new potential business premises so they can create a hub to display what they have on offer, along with a click-and-collect service.

We look forward to following Ratton Pantry as they continue to grow and we always love seeing a local business thrive.
