The cafe at Birling Gap has gone due to coastal erosion

A lot of visitors to the National Trust’s Birling Gap have been asking what’s happening to the old hotel here at Birling Gap.

Well, here’s the National Trust: “We lose up to 0.7 metres a year of the cliff due to coastal erosion so we are having to take down the front of the building which was our old café.

We thought you might like to see an update.”
