Congress Theatre, Eastbourne

It’ll be anything but a Blue Christmas at the Congress Theatre this December asThe Elvis Years at Christmas comes to the 1,600 seat venue for the ultimate Elvis festive experience on Thursday 8 December.

Experience an Elvis-style Christmas with an evening packed with classics from the ‘King’, plus all the trimmings!

Two hours of rock ‘n’ roll favourites including Hound Dog, It’s Now or Never, Return To Sender, All Shook Up, Viva Las Vegas, Suspicious Minds plus some of the festive melodies that Elvis loved; Silent Night, Here Comes Santa Claus, Blue Christmas, Winter Wonderland and Santa Claus Is Back In Town.

Starring Mario Kombow, winner of the Image of the King competition in 2005 in Memphis, Tennessee he is the only tribute artist in the world to have been officially endorsed by Donna Presley (Elvis’ first cousin) and by Elvis Presley Enterprises. Mario has performed as a tribute to his idol Elvis Presley for over twenty years and has over 6,000 performances to date, one of the highlights was the lead role in the West End production of Jailhouse Rock in the role of Elvis’ character Vince Everett at the Piccadilly Theatre.

Christmas was a special time for The King – a time for family and friends, a respite from the road and the recording studio. It was a time to sing gospel songs around the piano and give out extravagant gifts and donate money generously to local charities. Wherever he was in the world Elvis would always try to return to his home for the holidays.

In this production the love that Elvis had for the festive period is celebrated and relived with a selection of his best loved songs played live.
