ENGAGEMENT season is definitely underway so if you are now searching for the perfect venue, look no further.

The Old Chapel is a beautifully refurbished and intimate chapel, with its private walled garden and an interior unchanged for over 200 years. It offers a well- equipped and versatile space, steeped in character and history. It’s an affordable and flexible venue that is ideal for wedding ceremonies, personal celebrations, corporate gatherings, or community events.

History

Formerly the Alfriston Congregational Church, the building is a living memorial to the early nonconformists of Alfriston.

A travelling preacher from Heathfield called George Gilbert, inspired the group of dissenters in 1801 to build themselves a proper church. The church which was known as the Independent Church of Christ at Alfriston was opened for worship on 2nd August 1801.

Thanks to the recent improvement works the Church is now experiencing a new phase in its history and is finding a variety of ways to serve the community whilst maintaining a link with the past.

Testimonial

“The price is very affordable, but the location seems like it should be worth a lot more. We got some amazing photos with a lot of different backgrounds. All and all, my husband and I were very happy with this venue and we are happy recommend it to all our friends for any event. All our expectations were met and then some.”
