Three people were cut off by the tide in Eastbourne on Thursday afternoon.

Here is Eastbourne RNLI:

“Our Volunteer Crew were requested to launch the Inshore Lifeboat and tasked to reports of a person cut off by the tide at Beachy Head.

Once on scene it was discovered that there were 3 persons cut off by the tide in different locations.

The Volunteer Inshore Lifeboat Crew were able to rescue 2 persons with the assistance of a fishing vessel and a third person in a precarious position had to be winched to safety by Coastguard Rescue Helicopter.

We can only reiterate the importance of checking tide times before setting off around the coastline.”
