Asylum seekers have been seen leaving the Strand Hotel on Eastbourne Seafront this morning.

Six hotels in Eastbourne were being used to house asylum seekers and the council believed this was ‘totally unsuitable’.

Now that number has dropped.

Here are The Friends of Eastbourne Seafront posting this morning: “It seems Caroline Ansell has been true to her word and Eastbourne hotels are returning to normal.

“Those staying in The Strand Hotel were relocated early this morning and seen leaving in several coaches. We wish them well. Hopefully we will see The Strand Hotel and others being spruced up and ready to welcome visitors back to Eastbourne.”
