TODAY would appear to be the last chance to save the Walk In Centre at Eastbourne Railway Station.
Yesterday, the governing body of the NHS East Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) approved proposals to close the Eastbourne Station Health Centre.
Many people are horrified at the decision.
Even our MP remains opposed.
So what can be done?
Well, the governing body’s decision is set to be discussed at a meeting of the East Sussex Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee (HOSC) today.
At the meeting councillors are expected to weigh whether the decision is “in the best interest of the health service in East Sussex” and whether to refer the decision to the Secretary of State for Health if not.
They will have the power today to object and ask the government to decide.
