SUSSEX Police have issued a new warning this morning.

They say: “Covid-19 cases continue to rise with the number of people in hospital reaching unprecedented levels.

Our NHS is at tipping point and still, too many lives are being lost.

We remain in lockdown and we will continue to uphold lockdown laws.

That means please stay home, only exercise once a day, and only go out if your journey is essential.

We will continue to engage with the public, explain the rules and encourage compliance.

However, if necessary, officers are prepared to move quickly to enforcement by issuing fines.

There’s no excuse for recklessly ignoring Covid regulations.

Thank you the majority of Sussex for their co-operation.

It has never been more critical to follow the rules to keep ourselves safe, our families and friends safe, vulnerable people safe and to protect the NHS.”
