The uplifting and joyful play Beacons is at the Devonshire Park Theatre next week from Thursday 14 July, this acclaimed production, which is set in Eastbourne, has been described by critics as a joy to watch and the perfect summer night out at the theatre.  

Rehearsals began this week in Eastbourne with the cast which includes; Steven Pinder (Wicked, Brookside), Moira Brooker (As Time Goes By) and Polly Jordan (White Feather Boxer). This thoughtful play is written by award-winning Tabitha Mortiboy and directed by Samuel Clemens.

Set under the starlit skies of the South Downs this delightful tale follows three misfits all searching for their place. Uplifting thought provoking and packed with warm humour, even the hardest of hearts can’t help but be moved and positively affected by this incredible night of theatre.


Produced by Eastbourne Theatres especially for the Devonshire Park theatre this is a play set in Eastbourne and created in Eastbourne! The show is only on for 8 days (11 performances) so audiences are urged not to miss their chance to experience a night of affecting and joyful theatre. 

Beacons was first produced in Eastbourne back in 2020 and was the last play at the Devonshire Park to be performed before the theatres were forced to close. Now the re-birth of this glorious play has come full circle, with the opening night having particular resonance for cast and crew.
