Events were held at both Conquest Hospital and Eastbourne District General Hospital this week to thank all our volunteers as part of National Volunteer’s Week, which ran from 1 June to 7 June.

The week was a chance to recognise and thank volunteers for all their hard work – our volunteers fulfil a variety of roles that support the everyday running of our hospitals.

The events were the first volunteer events since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and we celebrated with tea and cakes, thank you cards and with long service certificates being presented.

We have a varied group of volunteers at the Trust, some that have been with us for a long time and some who have not been in since the start of the pandemic and wanted to reconnect with a view to returning. 45 people attended over the day and it was a great chance for them to meet other volunteers and discuss their different roles and experiences.
