Scott Temple started the group three years ago. It was very low key and the number of walkers was three, four, up to eight.
Now, in the past month, the number of social media followers has almost doubled to 1200, and two recent walks saw 35 and then 25 walkers.
Scott couldn’t be more pleased, and he wants more people to make contact and walk.
He said: “Because of my work rota, it’s two Sundays on and then two off. We normally aim for one shorter walk a month, and one longer.
“It’s all about joining together, making friendships young, old and from all walks of life, meeting other people and helping one’s mental health. We also welcome disabled people.
“A lot of people walk on their own, but would quite like some company, I know I did. We provide that company.”
“For some, it is difficult to take that first step and join us, they may be nervous, but I urge people to take that first step and join us. Be free with the world.”
