Wealden District Council and waste collection contractor, Biffa, apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused by the disruption to waste collections due to adverse weather conditions.
The council says: We are working hard to complete all scheduled collection. However, due to the icy conditions may be unable to complete some collections, and catch-up with those collections we were unable to make yesterday. This particularly applies in hilly or more rural areas and where roads are not gritted.
Refuse, Recycling & Garden Waste Collections
Please place your bin out as normal. If we are unable to collect your road or area, you do not need to report a missed collection to us. Please leave you bin out and our crews will be recording where they have not been able to access to arrange a return collection as the earliest opportunity. Currently we anticipate collections missed yesterday, Monday 8 February, and today, Tuesday 9 February, will be caught up by the end of Friday 12 February at the latest.
Please only contact us to report a missed collection if you placed your bin out by 7am and it was not emptied whilst your neighbour’s bins have been emptied. This can be done up to 5 pm the next working day through our website at www.wealden.gov.uk or by calling our contact centre on 01323 443322.
Please continue to check our website regularly for the latest updates.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
