PEVENSEY Community Support and The Ocean View Cafe have teamed up to provide free food for those in need over half term.
This is the latest community initiative after the Tories decided not to fund the meals this week.
Their joint statement says: “Pevensey Community Support and The Ocean View Cafe have teamed up to make sure no local child will go hungry this half term.
They will be offering a free take away sandwich lunch with a biscuit, a piece of fruit and a drink, or if you prefer to sit in then a choice from the children’s menu with a drink.
This will be every lunchtime this week (26th to the 30th October).
If you’d like to use this service for your children, who need to be resident in Pevensey or Pevensey Bay, all you need to do is call into the cafe or ring and book it on 01323 761495, with some proof of your address (please don’t worry, we won’t be recording anything, just checking that the children live in the village) and lunch will be served for free (for the children, sadly not the adults!).
We will be keeping this entirely confidential, we won’t be recording any names or addresses.
You may use the service everyday of the week if you need it.
We want to make sure that no child in our community goes hungry.”
