Representatives from tourism businesses across Wealden have been getting a look at Explore Wealden, the new tourist website.

As well as a presentation revealing the story behind the new brand, Explore Wealden, they were also introduced to the new attractions guide for the area.

“It is our role to support and help businesses and we will do whatever we can to achieve that,” said Cllr Roy Galley, Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, “Working together, we can help the tourism and hospitality sector going forward after a very difficult 15 months. We hope the new brand, website and attractions guide will encourage more visitors to explore the many hidden gems that Wealden has to offer.”

Some 15 local businesses, which rely on the visitor economy, took part in the launch. Because of the current social distancing guidelines, the event took place online. However, it is hoped than many visitors from across the UK will soon be able to come to Wealden and explore its naturally inviting surroundings.

The Council’s investment in this new campaign aims to increase the number of visitors enjoying longer stays in the area, exploring its nature, places and culture.

Tourism and hospitality businesses in Wealden can receive free promotion on the Explore Wealden website and social media channels. If your business is not already included and you would like it to be, please email tourism@wealden.gov.uk.
